Hotel Henry, Hoyt Lake, and Kloc's Grove Wedding - Buffalo, NY - Lauren & Mike

There’s so much to love about Lauren and Mike. I could write all day about how they’re fun, real, open, have amazing friends and family around them, and more. But one of the things I most enjoyed about them was seeing how free they are. Mike is solid, mature, thoughtful, and caring, and when Lauren is with him I see how safe she feels, and how free she is to express everything that's inside of her.

Lauren and Mike’s day was filled with laughter and smiles from the beginning. They got ready at the incredibly beautiful Hotel Henry in Buffalo, NY. It’s a building with a curious history - decades ago it was a psychiatric hospital! - but that history makes it so much more interesting than a traditional hotel. Its improbably wide hallways, tall windows, and uniquely-shaped guest rooms make it delicious to photograph in! (Seriously - if you’re getting married at Hotel Henry, I’d love to photograph there again!)

Webster Arboretum Sunset Engagement Session - Alexandra & Tim

When I first sat down with Alexandra and Tim, I was taken by their sweet and tender care for each other, and I knew I had to photograph their wedding. Their big day is coming up soon, but we squeezed in an engagement session first - and I'm so glad we did!

The Webster Arboretum in Webster, NY was the perfect place for a sunset engagement session. The light filtering through the trees was magical, and it was fun to be there on a Saturday evening because we got to hear a nearby wedding reception party all the way through our session!

Rochester, NY Wedding - Rochester Museum & Science Center Reception - Susan & Ryan

I first met Susan over a decade ago. We didn't get to hang out a ton in the years in-between, but I got to take pictures for her during an important event years ago, and we stayed in touch ever since.

I was thrilled when I got to sit down and hear her and Ryan's story, and even more happy when they wanted me to photograph their wedding! They have a deep care and respect for each other, and I can see the mutual trust they’ve built out of countless hours of honest and vulnerable conversations. I love how unselfishly they choose and care for each other, and it was so meaningful for me to get to be part of their wedding day.

Colgate Divinity School Wedding - Rochester, NY

When I first met Adrienne and Alex, I couldn't believe how much they liked each other. That might sound funny coming from a wedding photographer, but I'm serious! So many of us - myself included - can get comfortable in our relationships, but these two have just adored each other all through our journey working together. Their affection is contagious, and so many of us on their wedding day felt happier just being around them.

It would be enough if they just loved each other selflessly - and adorably, to quote their pastor. But their story is deeper than that.
